How can I facilitate a student-centered classroom?
Project based learning designed from a constructivist stand point lends itself to setting the stage for a student centered classroom. In a student centered classroom kids are give the opportunity to make choices about how they learn and how the go about completing learning activities. To provide an environment for success, teachers must look at ways to incorporate many learning styles and multiple intelligences.
How can I use technology to support my instructional practices?
Technology can be used as a productivity tool, a communication tool, and a resource for students and teachers. I look forward to increasing individual student participation by combining the use of on-line tools with direct instruction.

How do you feel about the ability of teachers to deal with these multiple learning styles in a "traditionally" configured classroom? Do we sometimes expect the PBL model to succeed in spite of some of the items that we cannot change?
Have you ever heard of Project Foundry?
It’s a web-based tool for the classroom that builds on the strengths of project-based learning. The tool dramatically reduces overhead for teachers, proactively engages students, and easily aggregates school customized assessments.
Project Foundry captures the process, proof, performance and outcomes of a project to ensure these insightful experiences promote student growth and adhere to educational benchmarks.
Currently used by 30 schools in 10 states (including the “Coolest School in America” named by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation), Project Foundry has become the tool of choice to implement project-based learning in schools.
You need to check out the Project Foundry website at www.projectfoundry.org
Sorry to sound like a commercial, but PBL schools need to come of age with technology to manage the process. Most are still struggling with spreadsheets and word documents. PBL schools need to realize the "horse and buggy" days are gone and advisors need to spend more time with their students.
